Alex (Matthew Perry), a construction supervisor working in California, meets beautiful Isabel (Salma Hayek) and they share a romantic evening together. A couple of months later Isabel contacts Alex to tell him that she is pregnant. They quickly decide to marry and head to Vegas. Marriage seems like a good idea at first, but then questions arise when they realize how different their backgrounds are. Family, culture, work, and friendships all seem to be major hurdles for this couple to overcome, sometimes with hilarious results. In the end Alex and Isabel must ask themselves if they are willing to stand behind the commitment they made to each other and their baby, despite the fact that it was made in haste.
