Alan Parrish is 12 when he hears drumbeats and digs up the trunk containing the Jumanji game. He takes it home and plays it that evening with a friend named Sarah. In the course of the game, Alan is sucked into the game board. Many years later two children, Judy (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter (Bradley Pierce) move into the old Parrish house with their Aunt Nora. They are drawn to the attic by the sound of drumbeats and find the Jumanji game. They play the game, and all kinds of wild animals appear and escape the house to terrorize the town. Alan Parrish (Robin Williams) returns, and with Sarah's help the four of them continue playing the game. All kinds of scary things happen, but eventually they win, and everything goes back to normal. Alan and Sarah marry, and many years later meet up with Peter and Judy again at a party. While they're talking, somewhere in the world two little girls hear the drumbeats and find the Jumanji game...
